Title: Cannabis Sativa Naming Confusion
Post by: justicebzwiegandjlz832 on September 21, 2026, 03:51:16 PM
Botanically speaking, every cannabis plant is Cannabis sativa L., which makes the growers' use of the word sativa a bit confusing. In seed catalogues it refers to the tall narrow leaf type from equatorial regions, while the botanical name covers indica and ruderalis types too. The terminology page on https://hazesativaseeds.com (https://hazesativaseeds.com) untangles this and explains why some researchers now prefer narrow leaf and broad leaf drug type as labels. For practical purposes the old grower shorthand still works, as long as everyone knows what is meant.
